Shinrin-Yoku


Imagine visiting a medical professional for treatment for depression, anxiety, hypertension, diabetes or even cancer and receiving a prescription for a 30-minute walk outside each day. 


More healthcare professionals are recommending the free and non-invasive treatment for their patients. Studies have reported the overwhelming benefits of engaging with nature and healthcare providers like the United Kingdom’s National Health Service are recommending “nature prescriptions.” 


The practice of Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing) the simple act of spending time in nature with healing intent and was first introduced in Japan in the early 80s. 


Studies have shown that benefits of Shinrin-Yoku include
